CLAT 2022: How to prepare for CLAT in 2 months




CLAT (Common law admission test) is an entrance examination for those students who want to choose law as a career. It provides admission to the aspirants for undergraduate and post-graduate programs. The test is taken after higher secondary education to take admission to top law colleges/universities.

How prepare for this exam is a big deal for many students. Studying law requires a student to go through the syllabus and work on individual topics properly. Studying law is a really challenging career for a student as it requires a deep study of topics related to law.

Firstly, a student has to prepare for the entrance examination, which includes preparing legal aptitude, logical reasoning, Quantitative Techniques, English and General Knowledge, and current affairs. This is how you should prepare for your CLAT exam in 2 months.

 2 Months Preparation Plan for CLAT 2022

In the first month, the candidates must start with checking the syllabus for CLAT and prepare a timetable to cover those topics.

  • Make sure you have checked the topics carefully and have covered all concepts.
  • Do not start anything from scratch, this is the time for revision and practice only.
  • Revision and practice and then revision and practice must be the cycle that you follow.

For the second month, keep your notes ready.

  • It is the responsibility of the test-takers to solve the previous year's question papers and increase their speed and accuracy in solving questions.
  • The mock test series must be completed daily in the last month.
  • Newspapers must be read daily to stay up to date with the latest affairs.

English Comprehension

Reading Comprehension

  • For reading comprehension, make sure to read as much as you can. Read the newspapers daily and learn new words.
  • Try reading essays from the books and practice the comprehension passages.

Vocabulary

  • For preparing for this section, you can take the help of “Word power made easy by Norman Lewis”. You can do 2 topics a day and revise them.

Para Jumbles

  • Practice at least 5–10 questions a day daily till the exam date.
  • For this section, you can prepare for Mock tests and CAT Verbal modules.

Logical Reasoning

  • Study from Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal. This is the best book which will help you in 02 months.
  • You can also practice online at IndiaBix. It is user-friendly, has formulas, and explains answers to every question. You can go through it once and if you are comfortable with it, go ahead or else Books are always there to help you.
  • Since you are at this crucial time, follow practicing these topics for the Analytical section first:
    • Puzzles – Solve at least 10 a day.
    • Analogies – Solve at least 10-15 a day.
    • Blood relations – Get your concepts clear and start practicing 20–30 questions a day.
    • Mathematical Reasoning
    • Coding-decoding
  • For the verbal part, study from MK Pandey, as it has a chapter-wise explanation on the topics. However, you will see similar questions of verbal in both RS Aggarwal and MK Pandey. So, you can either buy both or choose between either of the two books.

Quantitative Techniques

  • From this time onwards, you should do at least 08 chapters. When you will finish with 08 chapters and take up the mock test, you will see the improvement. But you should study 08 chapters with all your heart and dedicatedly.
  • For time and work, you can watch Dinesh Miglani tutorials, they are good if you are just starting CLAT preparation.
  • For Number systems, you can take help from the youtube video “takshzila shikshak”.
  • Practice SI and CI questions as the most predictable questions are asked from here.
  • Do not leave Profit and Loss as it is equally important.

Legal Aptitude

  • It is a must that you should practice 50 questions daily until exam day.
  • CL’s modules will be enough to learn the approach to the questions.
  • Solve the previous year’s question papers at least twice.
  • After that you have completed this part, you can also take free CLAT mock tests online and check your performance. If you score above 35 in the mock tests in this section then you can do fairly well in the entrance test also.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs

  • Do not neglect this section as it is the most scoring part and the Gk section alone covers ¼ of the paper.
  • The Hindu newspaper will be enough and try to utilize all the free portal which provides current affairs. However, on these online portals check if the GK section is CLAT oriented or not as their main focus is on BANK, SSC, etc.
  • One must make his/ her habit of reading newspapers and watching the news daily. Basic knowledge of History, Geography, and Science will be preferred as a great advantage.
